Online FTP

I managed to figure out an uploading solution for the time being while my laptop's out and to by pass Monash's firewall. I used an online, web-based FTP uploader. At least now I can still do some work. However, the computers in uni doesn't have Photoshop.. so as for resizing the pictures, I'm using Xanga (upload the picture, chose a small size pic, post, then Save as).. but to create graphics and to crop I'll need Photoshop up and running!

It's the 27th August 2007. My adapter's supposed to be back today. Hopefully Fujitsu kept their word!

Laptop Difficulties Causes Website Drought

It's close to two week since the website has been touched/updated and the worst period of web hits ever. This is due to the inavailability of my laptop which abrupted went out of order since the beginning of this drought. View cause here. Updates will continue to flow in two weeks when the a power adapter for my laptop arrives. Still, there is a lack of news and initiative from the company to possibility updating anything at the moment.. causing a "desperate" interview with the sergeants (YOU HEAR ME YOU LAZY BUMMED PEOPLE!). Even so, only one of three sergeants responded.

Do you have a solution to offer? Cause I'm running out of ideas. Issue at hand: How to get people to contribute articiles to the website?

The comic idea is still under development. It'll be some time before it gets going.

to encourage contribution of in company and non-3rd KL news, a points system is being devised (though it must be said, this idea was thought of since website conception, only that it has never been implemented).

BB Comic!

Argh. I need a major revamp on the website design if I wanna keep ppl visiting. Though the current structure is easier to maintain.. if you want something good sacrifices need to be made. I thinking of a phased redesign or should I say "beautification" of each of the main sections where there will be nicer graphics and background images.

I would also like to announce in this blog entry that we'll be coming up with a weekly comic drawned by myself (well, who else was gonna volunteer anyway?). More details of the comic will be announced at a later date. It would feature the life of a BB members life addressing several themes such school life (studies, etc), teenage life (which is one of the major highlights such as BG relationships, friendship, etc) and of course addressing BB themes as well (promotion, competitions, awards, etc). It will especially touch on important morole values. The comics tone will vary from serious to hilarious depending on the message and time frame suitable. Additional ideas are welcomed for consideration!

Dreamweaver try out..

I tried giving Dreamweaver 8.0 a try.. and boy. It's complex. I think when I do use it in the future.. I'll need to redesign the layout as you can see below, certain parts didn't come out the way it should. Another time when I'm free I'll learn to figure it out.

Will be helping to maintain BBMalaysia.org while the webmaster is away.. that's why I'm using dreamweaver all the sudden. Should be quite interesting.

April Fool's Joke

Here's the April's Fool entry I put on the website after KUL Games Quite a few people were fooled by it.. amazingly.

"
BREAKING NEWS: ERROR IN POINTS TABULATION

The organizers of this years KUL Games have determined that the marks were wrongly tabulated and thorough investigations suggest that defending champions 1st Kuala Lumpur Company is the rightful winner of this years KUL Games. It is alleged that several 3rd KL members tampered with the scores. Those individuals have been dealt with by the company's officers. 3rd KL did come in with a convincing 2nd placing in the overall standings. It is sad to break this news to all 3rd KL members. Hopefully things will turn up better in the future after you have realized April Fool's over. Congratulations to the winners once again! "

BBlog Revived

With the lack of initiave post from back home, I can only rely on what i hear and read from the blogs of others. This brought me to revive the run-downed BBlog section of the website. So far I've overexceeded my own expectations.. there is really much to feature.. though it can be several people featuring the same event on their own blog, I've found a way around it. All in all, the bblog section is can be a website by itself.

Now I need to figure out how to better incorperate key blogs on the index page as it's really ashame only to feature one blog at a time. A high turnover rate won't work either as it'll discard good entries a little too soon. Brainstorming....

GJC and KUL Games Link added

Some time last week I added the Golden Jubilee Celebration link and KUL Games logo into the 3rd KL web. The GJC section was totally developed by 3rdKLbb.org, and as of today enhancements are still being made, although it must be that that the basic information is already there.

The Primers will be developing the KUL Games section with my moderation. As of today it is still not updated, but I am eagerly awaiting their work.
